Small Space Decorating; Choosing Chairs

 With a little forethought and ingenuity you can create a space that is not only big on charm, but appears larger to the eye.  One key I mentioned is looking for multifunctional furniture.   This can serve as added storage as well as reducing the need for many pieces.  The last thing you want to do is inundate a small space with furniture.

A tip I found beneficial for kitchen or dining room furniture is to choose round or oval tables.  It is simply space effective.  I personally found that square and rectangular tables seem to give the space a cramped feeling.

It is also a good idea to choose chairs without arms, they are simply less obtrusive.  Even if your on a tight budget you can always find an inexpensive table.  Throw a light, silky throw or table cloth on it and then make a statement with the chairs.

Look for upholstered dining chairs  as well as side chairs in light fabrics.   I like the below chair because it's light, simple and elegant.

I love wood dining chairs for a kitchen,  they remind of an old fashioned country kitchen. As you can see from the image below, a small table and chairs can be very big on charm.
