Track Your Fitness Progress With The Right Scale

This winter I let myself go.  This is not unlike me, since I struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder.  I'm less active and I tend to eat more during this time of year.  I've managed to gain quite a bit of weight, so much so, that I was considered overweight by my doctor and the medical community in general, which base healthy weight on BMI, Body Mass Index.  While BMI is not a perfect system; doesn't separate muscle from fat, it's still a relative decent gauge for determining a healthy weight. Unless you're an athlete with a lot of muscle mass, you will probably find BMI calculation to be quite useful.

EatSmart Digital CalPal Scale; easy to read display

I feel far healthier now since losing the weight and getting within the "normal weight" range. My fitness level has greatly improved and I love that I can easily do a workout video with ease when I could barely get through  the same video several months ago.  I've also started utilizing the scale to track my progress. My old Eat Smart Get Fit Body Fat Scale was damaged in a flood.  I'm still holding onto it because I would like to get it repaired.  I am now using another scale from EatSmart called Precision CalPal Digital Scale.  It's an easy to use scale that offers consistent accurate readings along with a couple of nifty extra features that including BMI reading and the amount of calories needed to maintain current weight.  To reap those extra features I just had to take few seconds to program a few details into the scale; age, weight, height.  I used the easy instructions in the manual and it only took a few seconds. It was a very simple process, so don't be intimidated. You can add up to four individuals, scale will show:  P1, P2, etc.  My weekly weigh-ins have really proven to be instrumental in keeping me focused toward my goals.  I intend to use the scale throughout the winter, I feel this will be a great way to be reminded of the amount of calories I need to maintain my weight.

If you programmed your CalPal scale to calculate BMI and daily calories, you'll only need to wait a few seconds after stepping on the scale to get the extra info.  Once your displayed weight starts to flash you will then be able to see your body mass calculation below your weight,  the next number displayed will be your caloric intake.

Tips for accurate reading: Make sure scale is on a level surface

EatSmart is noted for producing accurate scales and that has been my finding as well. Always consistent.  After an early morning doctor's appointment I noticed that the CalPal was on par with the large scale in the doctor's office. Just make sure that you're weighing on an even surface for an accurate reading.

This scale looks so awesome! I was just telling my husband this morning that we really need to get a new scale because I keep getting inconsistent readings with our current one. I am definitely in the market for a new one :)

Wow what and awesome scale I never knew one could do all that! I have packed on a lot of weight over the last 6 years since I quit working and this would be amazing tool to have to help me on my way back! Congrats on your weight loss that is awesome!

This would be great to have. We have one that doesn't stay calibrated for squat. It makes it very hard to really tell where you are on a weight journey. Sometimes it can really make you feel bad even though you know it isn't right and can be off sometimes as much as 8 or 9 pounds. It would be nice to have a newer one that is up to par.

The scale I have now is one I got for a wedding shower gift 39 years ago so this would be an awesome addition to the family!

I'd love to have a scale with all the bells and whistles! :) right now I just have the basic weight one and it's kind of old so it might be kicking the bucket any day now.
