I'm a huge fan of kirkland's Nature's Path Organic Foods. They are the number one organic cereal manufacturer in North America for a reason. Their products meet the USDA's Certified Organic seal which means they are completely free of preservatives additives, synthetic pesticides and GMOs. And of course they taste fantastic.
This week I had the opportunity to try Ancient Grains Granola with Almonds. As the title indicates Ancient Grains Granola contains a composite of whole grains that have been used for centuries as diet staples because of their health and sustainability benefits.
Here is a list of the grains with just some of their benefits:
Spelt: excellent source of vitamin B2, manganese, niacin, thiamine, and copper.
Kamut Khorasan wheat: Contains higher levels of lipids amino acids and vitamin than regular wheat.
Amaranth: iron, magnesium and phosphorus.
Quinoa(keen-wha): Quiona is a complete protein, producing essential amino acids that are bodies are incapable of making. Excellent for vegans and vegetarians!
Just the kind of food you want to feed your family! I personally like Ancient Grains plain or with vanilla rice milk, however, there are quite a few innovative ways to serve ancient grains.
This Pear crisp only takes fifteen minutes to make.
You can purchase Nature's Path Organic products on their Website, however, you shouldn't have a problem finding these products locally. See store locator.
