Vegan cosmetics are not created equally
Walmart carries a line of vegan cosmetics that are just cheap. That is, ingredient cheap, not the kind of stuff you want to be putting on your skin. On the other hand, there are quite a few lines of vegan cosmetics that I've come across that are not effective. Sure they're free of junk ingredients but they're not effective at delivering positive results. I've learned to avoid mom and pop companies for this reason.
Emani is a more established brand, and the absolute best line of vegan cosmetics I've come across in my very long five years of blogging.
I discovered Emani vegan cosmetics while I was shopping for a concealer that didn't irritate my eyes. Their HD Corrective Concealer works wonders on my dark circles. I also use it on special occasions to contour and highlight like a pro. They recently launched the HYDRAWEAR 12HR FOUNDATION and I'm equally as impressed with this luxurious, creamy foundation.
Hydrawear 12 HR is THE foundation to have this winter
My makeup routine is a bit different in the winter than it is in the summer. For the warm months I keep my routine light. I mix a little tinted moisturizer with an SPF creme for a light coverage. In the winter I prefer something a little more substantial. The Hyradawear meets my needs perfectly in that it provides excellent coverage and blends nicely for a natural look.
Coverage – medium
Finish – dewy
Skin type – normal to dry skin; sensitive skin
Balances the moisture content of the skin for a healthier complexion
Minimizes the appearance of pores
Evens and brightens skin tone
Provides all-day, natural-looking coverage
Diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
The Hydrawear is available in nine different shades which enabled me to perfectly match my complexion. The Creme Beige worked perfectly for my skin tone which is fair to medium with yellow undertones, where as the Oyster Beige worked well for my mom who has more rosy undertones.
This provides a nice coverage and gives the illusion of a perfect complexion. It has a natural dewy finish which can be enhanced by adding a little extra moisturizer. My tip is to mix it with SPF creme and use extra hydrawear under dark under eye circles as well as other problem areas. More tips for achieving flawless finish can be found on Emani's website.
The Hydrawear comes in a beautiful glass bottle that matches the quality of the product. This retails for $34 and I feel the price for the quality of the product is unsurpassed.
