Deep in the south of the U.S. is home to some of the finest cuisine. It was early french settlers that would initially introduce the south; mainly Mississippi and Louisiana, and eventually the world to the most extraordinary, flavorful, mouth watering dishes.
These poor settlers known as Cajuns would create dishes using basic ingredients that would one day go down in history and be noted among the finest cuisines the world has to offer.
Cajun food is one of my favorite foods and I'm happy to introduce to y'all another amazing online discovery of mine:
In the heart of Louisiana you can find Mossy Bayou Foods. You may of heard of their award winning LOUISIANA SWAMP SCUM HOT SAUCE.
Last night I made Rice; using their Louisiana Popcorn rice, beans and vegetables. I used their Bayou Blend Seasoning, a little bit of Cajun Chow-Chow and to top it off with Louisiana Swamp Scum Hot Sauce. Oh yeah that's what I'm talkin about, it was sensational!
The Cajun Chow-Chow is a very spicy relish containing green Cayenne peppers, onions, garlic, salt and a special blend of spices. Mossy Bayou Foods refers to it as "relish with a kick", I couldn't of said it better myself. This stuff will not last in my house. It is fantastic.
The Bayou Blend Seasoning is my new fave spice. It is hard to believe that something that doesn't contain salt can be so good. It really adds a true Cajun flavor to any dish.
The Louisiana Popcorn Rice is is very unique in that it has a popcorn flavor and aroma. It taste sensational and can be enjoyed without any seasonings.
I would love to go to Louisiana to enjoy authentic Cajun Cuisine, but that is just not possible at this time, however, through the power of the Internet I'm able to get a taste of fine Cajun food. Fortunately for me no cooking skills are required. Visit Mossy Bayou Foods to purchase their amazing authentic products. These Cajun condiments and food will not break your budget. ..And they accept paypal.
