Derma MD: Advanced Skincare For Serious Anti-Aging

I was still in my teens when I started purchasing anti-aging products. To this day, I'm not sure what it was exactly I was trying to improve upon. While you're never too young to start a good age-prevention regime for your skin, there are just certain products that are not necessary for teenage skin.    Now that I'm a little older I can appreciate the need for certain products.

For instance as you get older your skin loses its ability to retain moisture.  The skin's Collagen and elastin break down.  The results of such a metamorphoses may cause many to go running to the nearest plastic surgeon for fillers, Botox and what not.  Now I'm not dissing plastic surgeons or those that take that route, but, the reality is, a good skincare regime can make a big difference and can help to postpone or even lessen those PS visits.

For the past two weeks I have been exclusively using a few products by Derma MD and so far I'm really impressed. I feel they're a company that has really done their homework at providing products that successfully address the needs of aging skin.

About Derma MD

The chemist that go to work at producing Derma MD  create products that are synergistically formulated to address several issues in one product.  For instance the Copper Co-Q10 Moisturizer is formulated to target: wrinkles, fine lines as well as redness.  Key ingredients go to work at promoting collagen production that address fine lines and wrinkles, and copper and algae go to work at addressing redness.  This approach makes the most sense, since skincare needs vary from person to person and many skincare issues cannot be resolved with just one ingredient.

I like that Derma MD discloses full product ingredients on their site. They have also been really helpful in regard to providing additional information that I've had regarding various ingredients and so forth.

A little about my Derma MD 3 piece regiment

First step: Plant Stem Cell Lifting Serum.  This is an investment product. At a retail of around $150 it's not cheap, but if you're serious about fighting the signs of aging, then this is your product.

Key ingredients: Apple Stem Cell Extract and Snail Filtration Extract.

The last ingredient may have you a bit perplexed.  So what is Snail Filtration Extract?  If you ever watched a snail, or any kind of gastropod move you would of noticed they leave behind secretions. They actually produce various types of secretions or mucus that include: protein, calcium, pigments, and lipids.  One of the purposes of this mucus is to prevent the snail from drying out.  If the idea of using this on your skin seems distasteful or perhaps gross then it may interest you to know that snail secretions are said to stimulate collagen and elastin fibers, not so gross now is it?  Thankfully no snails are harmed in the process.  The mucus is simply collected from trees and shrubs and then goes through a natural purification process.

Derma MD combines this phenom ingredient with Apple Stem Cell Extract to deliver a potent punch of  anti-aging benefits.

I have been using this with the moisturizers below, and  I've noticed so far is my skin feels thicker, supple and tighter.  The Plant Stem Cell Lifting Serum isn't the first product I've used that contained "snail  filtration extract" but it is without a doubt the best. I use it all over my face including around my eyes to obliterate bags and fight crows feet, and neck.  The serum absorbs like nobody's business.  Use it at night before moisturizer as well as during the day.

Step 2: Uplifting Neck & Face Creme This is some serious moisturizer that is designed for mature skin.  Top ingredients include Alpha Lipoic Acid,  DMAE complex and 3% syn-coll.  The latter ingredient, syn-coll is a "synthetic peptide designed to stimulate the skin's natural mechanism to produce collagen".  Much like the Plant Stem Cell Lifting Serum, the Uplifting Neck & Face Cream packs a wallop in anti-aging benefits.

This creme has a nice mousse-like consistency.  Like the serum, this absorbs quickly and completely into the skin.  Many products that are targeted for mature skin tend to break me out. Not the case with this one.  I use this all over my face, even the orbital area around the eyes, and neck.  The neck is one area you do not want to age.  It has been noted that the delicate neck tends to show signs of aging early and once it begins to show those first signs of aging it's a rapid decline.

Step 2 daytime. Daytime Moisturizer SPF 50.  Unhealthy exposure to the sun is said to be a huge culprit for aging skin.   A good sunscreen is a must.  I use this moisturizer during the day over the Plant Stem Cell Lifting Serum. This contains a rather impressive concentration of zinc oxide, which is hyper important for blocking both UVA and UVB rays. Fortunately this doesn't leave a white tint when applied to the skin. Not sure if it's due to the quality of the zinc or the fact that it's quickly absorbed into the skin. Either way, I'm happy.  This also contains tons of moisturizing ingredients like aloe vera and shea butter, a real plus for preventing sun dried skin.

I also had the opportunity to review the Glamur Lip Plumpers by Derma MD.  While they delivered as promised I wasn't quite as impressed with the top ingredients.    These lip plumping glosses don't quite meet my standards in that regard, but they do cause my lips to swell to a lovely pout while providing a pretty shimmery gloss, so I will be reaching for these on special occasions.

Derma MD carries some rather impressive products that address various needs.  Some other products that really interest me include the Vitamin C Illuminating Serum and the Intense Soy Body Moisturizer.

The products that I featured, my three piece regime, can be purchased for only $233.95 by buying the Neck Lifting Duo Kit for $179 which contains both the Plant Cell Lifting Serum and the Uplifting Face & Neck Creme and then purchase the Daytime Moisturizer w/SPF 50 separately for $44.95 or better yet the large 4 oz size for $65.  For less than $250 you'll be set.

I think that it is important to start a skin care regimen as soon as possible. Don't wait until the wrinkles start piling up!

I'd love to try all of these, especially the Copper Co-Q10 Moisturizer, I've been noticing a lot more wrinkles! I had no idea copper and algae help fight against redness too! The plant lifting serum sounds wonderful, I had problems sleeping due to allergies and as a result I had eye bags. I definitely would like to see the snail filtration extract at work! Love the sound of the daytime moisturizer with SPF since it's a two in one! My skin gets so parched during the summer, this would surely help!

All of these products sound marvelous. I am especially interested in the daytime moisturizer. It's amazing how many products don't have a high spf and yet that's so essential in an anti-aging product.

What a great review. I love how you describe the products. The comparison of the snail goo, and its purpose was so interesting. I have picked up a slug before and know that moisture they have. I would love to have skin that was so happy it maintained some moisture.

These products seem to have some of the newest anti-aging ingredients in them. I really like Vitamin C in my skin care products, but I would certainly give these a try. I am having a bit of a problem with the snail secretions. Women are expected to stay young, so I suppose most of us will try anything once.

I have been hearing a lot about using apples in some serums and that they really do work. This research sounds like it was extensive and hopefully they can get some aging questions answered before that happens!

I am always looking for new skincare products. I have undergone numerous procedures and surgeries for my spine and the anesthesia has changed my facial skin from combination to oily with dry patches. The dry patches have become premature wrinkles, and not the laugh lines types. While I am weary of putting snail slime on my face, I am tired if my skin problems.

I've been reading about snail extract in Korean skincare and heard that it's excellent so I'm intrigued that it's used here as well.
