The sun's ultra violet B rays are stronger in the summer, this combined with the fact that we spend considerably more time outdoors requires us to take added precaution during this time of year.
What you need to stay safe this summer
A good sunscreen
A good sunscreen should protect your skin from both UV and UVB rays, since both are harmful and are responsible for both skin cancers and pre-mature aging. Doctors also recommend an SPF of at least 15. SmartShield award winning sunscreens are ideal because they are free of oil, Paba and Deet and are formulated to protect against both UV and UVB rays.
I started using SmartShield last year and I was excited to try their new Rehydrating Face Cream with SPF 45. This is ideal because it's oil free, so it absorbs quickly into the skin and I don't have to worry about clogged pores. I have been mixing this with little foundation and applying on my face, neck and decollete. It stays put and is sweat resistant, which comes in handy for summertime activities. I also really love the higher SPF for the summer.

Double your protection with Pack A Hat!
Cappelli Straworld, Inc. recently launched a rather brilliant concept that combines a fashionable pack-a-way hat with it's own tote. The hat boast an SPF of 50 and can easily fold to fit into a little tote that can be used as a single accessory or stashed into a handbag. Available in seven fabulous color choices. I like keeping this in my handbag during the warm weather so that I have it on hand, even in emergency situations.
