Sonic cleansers have been enormously popular since coming on the scene. All skin types benefit from a more thorough cleaning that these instruments provide. I myself have promoted one on my site in the past. Lately there are more affordable models on the market that are gaining popularity. I was sent the more expensive sonic cleanser from Nutra Sonic by Nutra Luxe a while back and more recently the Professional Skin Care System from ToiletTree Products. I've been back and forth using both products in order to provide an honest and thorough comparison.
The Nutra Sonic is a more affordable version of the Clarisonic, both units provide basically the same sonic technology. On the other hand, the Pro Skin Care System uses basic technology.
The difference in brush oscillation
The Nutra Sonic is said to oscillate at four hundred times per second, I'm sure at the highest speed. Basically the Nutra Sonic vibrates and provides a back and forth oscillation. The Pro Skin Care System, on the other hand, simply rotates.
Now before I give my verdict on my preference lets go over what each product is said to accomplish according to each manufacturers site:
|Nutra Sonic by Nutra Luxe very similar to the Clarisonic|
Nutra Sonic by Nutra Luxe (very similar to Clarisonic)

Cleanses and exfoliates at the same time.
Helps reduce oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes.
Helps reduce the appearance of visible pores.
Helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Leaves skin feeling and looking smoother.
Effective, but gentle enough to use twice a day.
Helps prevent blemishes.

If you read the benefits of both products you can see that their objective is the same. They basically set out to accomplish the same task.
What the higher-end sonic cleansers appear to offer is more speeds and the sonic technology which is basically implying a high speed rotation. The lesser expensive model by ToiletTree offers one speed and the brush simply rotates.
Is the fancy sonic technology really needed to accomplish the task at hand?
Remember I can only compare the sonic cleansers to the Pro Skin Care System by ToiletTree. My verdict: If I had to choose I would go with the lesser expensive unit by ToiletTree.
As much as I admire the four speeds on the higher priced model, it's not something I used. I also find the ToiletTree face brush gentler on my skin and this includes my neck area. I enjoy using it and I tend to use it more often, whereas the other model sat around unused most of the time. The one basic speed is perfect, it gets the job done and leaves my skin feeling clean and glowing.
I also noticed that the product I used foamed up more with the Pro Cleansing System.
The only potential con I can see is that the Pro Skin Care System is battery operated. Because the is so well made and the batteries are secure within the devise, the unit is waterproof. Many people may find it cheaper to recharge as opposed to replacing batteries. I actually prefer replacing the batteries to avoid having to preempt usage.
The simple technology of the Professional Skin Care System gets the job done with a more luxurious feeling on my skin. It's a great device. This retails for only $32.95 and comes with two brushes; one for sensitive skin, a body brush and a pumice stone.
A fantastic product at a great value.
