The Long Awaited Designer Bags by Glass Handbag

Iridescent Jewel Patent Emerald Green Satchel

I'm not the most liked person in the checkout line, that's because I'm holding folks up while I dig aimlessly for loose change, credit cards and store discount cards in the black abyss of my handbag.   I can only take comfort in the fact that I'm not alone in this common occurrence.

This is why it's about time for a handbag with an interior light.  We owe our gratitude to Tamara Leuty; fashion photographer and founder of Glass Handbag.

Boss Lady Black Leather Embossed Croco Satchel

When I first saw these handbags I fell in love.  They're high end, top quality, stylish custom bags that look like a million bucks, that in itself is more than enough for me.  Basically these bags had me on the aesthetics alone.  The interior light is just the icing on the cake.  Though, like cake icing, the light is really the star of the show, that is, when you think of just how women everywhere will benefit from this feature.

Incorporating an interior light inside a handbag would obviously be challenging, that is, to create something that is functional.    As you can see from the technology, the light is sleek, flat to be exact.  It runs on two triple A batteries that are tucked away discreetly.    The light is non-heat producing and designed to be effective in low light and dark conditions, and only comes on when the bag is opened.  It's also designed for longevity.  So you can appreciate the time an effort that went into engineering these bags.

Future generations will look back and wonder how we managed to get along without this needed detail.

I had an opportunity to interview Tamara Leuty in founder of Glass Handbag:

Tamara Leuty: Glass Handbag Founder

Me: How long have you been a fashion photographer?

Tamara: 16 years

Me: When did you have the eureka moment and when did you realize that this needed to be materialized?

Tamera: I had some downtime from my photography, and just thought I would research the idea in 2010 and I never stopped the process after that.

Me: Do you feel your job as a fashion photographer inspired or influenced the handbag designs?

Tamara: My work as a photographer is an creative outlet and it involves fashion and beauty, which I have always loved. So designing handbags is also a creative outlet where I can incorporate the photography and the whole visual package.

Me: I practice a vegan lifestyle most of the time, but I'm simply blown away by your leather bags, do you plan on coming out with a vegan line in the future?

Tamera: I currently sell a metal evening bag and have plans to expand the line to non-leather handbags, sports duffle collection, luggage, backpacks and totes...and a kid's line of bags in the works that are non-leather. Something for everyone, with good style of course.

Thank you Tamara.
