The normal setting is so powerful that you may want to consider using this setting in the shower the first time you use it or you will risk a very wet bathroom mirror.  The second session I knew to keep my mouth closed to avoid a wet bathroom.   The pulse setting provides a nice gum massage while thoroughly removing debris.

For those of you on the fence about the benefits of dental oral irrigators you may be surprised that many dentist recommend the use of oral irrigators as a compliment to a daily oral hygiene routine.  Some dentist even recommend them in lieu of floss.  The reasoning is that flossing can be too abrasive on teeth and gums.  Even though the oral irrigator by ToiletTree is quite powerful, I choose to use this as a compliment to flossing as opposed to as a replacement.

With that said, this is more effective at getting under the gum line than regular floss.  It's a great preventive against plaque and has been clinically proven to reduce gingivitis among other dental diseases.

I love this oral irrigator, it's easy to use and I truly feel that I'm more effectively cleaning my teeth, my mouth also feels cleaner.  This is a good thing because my dental insurance ain't so great.
