Unfortunately I'm no longer the dynamo I use to be when it comes to activity. Even at the gym my body can no longer do all those awesome moves of my former days. One area that has suffered as a result of my limited capacity are my abs. Even as a kid I had problems with my back and neck and as an adult I have a really hard time doing crunches as well as the palates ab routines that I use to really love.
After doing some in depth research I found a product that really tones and firms abs without my having to hurt my back and neck in the process. I kid you not when I say The Flex Belt really does work. For the most part The Flex Belt has high ratings, but I did find a few naysayers on Amazon. Whenever I research a product I always try to use discernment when reading reviews. What I found is that those that were giving this low ratings either had unrealistic expectations or were not using the ab belt correctly.
"The Flex Belt is the first ab belt toning system cleared by the FDA for toning, firming and strengthening stomach muscles"
Flex Belt uses EMS technology. EMS stands for Electric Muscle Stimulation.
This stimulation causes the muscle to contract. If you're familiar with isometrics you will appreciate the science behind the product and why it is truly effective.
I started using The Flex Belt six weeks ago. The funny thing is I didn't bother to read the instructions; cause I hate reading instructions, and I didn't realize that the device goes up to a 150 in intensity. So for a good four weeks I had it set at well below 50. Obviously you want to build up your intensity, but it wasn't until close to four weeks in that I realized my error.
Needless to say, it has only been a little over two weeks that I started using the ab belt correctly, so the fact that I'm seeing results already is staggering.
I've reached an intensity of 85 for thirty minutes and I must warn you that It's not exactly as comfortable as claimed. It's not painful, but I do find myself gasping during contractions. The good news is that I can go about my business as long as I'm just sitting at the computer. I have done light cleaning wearing this and I got to tell ya, it's extremely challenging.
During those contractions my abdominal area really tightens and it's somewhat taxing. This is why I find it best if I'm off my feet. It is advised to use good posture while wearing The Flex Belt.
The Flex Belt can be used daily. Your abs will get a varied workout due to the 7 built-in workouts. The concept behind this is called Muscle Confusion.
This will counter muscles from becoming adept to the same routine by continually challenging them. I have not ventured into the different workouts just yet, so for now I'm using my ab belt every other day.
Do not expect to lose weight from The Flex Belt. Unless you're using this in conjunction with diet and exercise. The Flex Belt will compliment your fitness endeavors. With that said I haven't done anything different in my diet and exercise routine, but what I'm seeing is definition in my stomach and dare I say a little reduction in my obliques.
I am truly excited over the Flex Belt and the fact that it's giving me definition back in my abs. They're starting to look like they did when I was faithfully doing crunches and palates.
The best thing for me is seeing results because that gives me the impetus to keep up a healthy routine. That really is the key to success.
