Some of the best dishes, desserts and candy are made with coconuts. Macaroons, coconut cream pie, coconut cake, coconut shrimp curry and the list goes on...
Tropical Traditions is a company that is based in the Philippines and uses fair trade coconuts as well as traditional methods to produce their products. Thus, all of their products are free from low mass-production standards that are so common in the industry.
This results in a pure, unrefined product that is unmatched in quality and higher in nutritional value then any other coconut derived product on the market.
I'm a huge fan of their coconut oil and recently I was introduced to their Coconut Cream Concentrate.
Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate is certified organic whole coconut meat in concentrated form. It contains no additives* (not even water). The dried coconut meat is ground very finely, giving it a creamy consistency due to its high fat content. Since it is 70% fat, it is a rich source of pure coconut oil. Note: this is a food, not a cooking oil.
How does this differ from items like it on the market? interestingly the number one ingredient with commercial coconut cream is water. As to be expected commercial coconut cream; and milk, also contains additives. Sulfites are used for the purpose of keeping the product white. The FDA does not require complete labeling of many of these additives, thus the consumer is left in the dark.
Contrast this with the pure, 100% certified organic coconuts in Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate. Nothing but organic coconuts, absolutely no other ingredients.
It is no doubt the pureness that makes this product so delicious. My favorite way to use coconut cream is on waffles, in coffee and cereal. Although, there are some amazing recipes on their site.
