You Can Do A Graphic Novel by Barbara Slate

Last week was the start of summer vacation for many students.  I'm sure some of you are wondering what these kids are going to do all summer.  Well, I found the perfect activity that will inspire your kids to be creative and productive as well as give them a fine foundation for a future endeavor.

You Can Do A Graphic Novel by Barbara Slate is the perfect tool to get kids on a creative path.

Barbara Slate has had enormous success with comics, graphic novels and more.  She boast approximately 400 novels not including editorial work for various magazines including cosmopolitan.  If you ever had the privilege of reading her work you will surely appreciate the caliber of her talent.

Around four years ago Barbara was invited to teach kids how to do a graphic novel at her local library, this was actually the conception of this very detailed step by step book.  The beauty of this book is that it's perfectly laid out from beginning to end. It not only gives kids a hands on approach but it is written in a way that makes it easy to comprehend the process.

fundamentals of graphic novels

Barbara Slate magnanimously shares her expertise, even mentioning the best ways of overcoming obstacles that arise in the creative process such as writers block.  Barbara also shares her tips on finding inspiration.

You Can Do A Graphic Novel is the best I have seen in this venue or any venue to be honest. It will bring out the best of those who use this as a stepping stool in creating a successful graphic novel.

This book is geared toward tweens and teens, however, all ages will find this to be beneficial.  Remember your never too old to realize your dreams or perhaps just simply create something that you really enjoy.

This retails for $19.95, but I found it at Amazon for only $14.96.

The very generous folks at Alpha Book would like to give two of my readers Barbara Slate's You Can Do A Graphic Novel.

Mandatory: Along with following my blog, visit Barbara Slate.com and tell me something you learned or perhaps another comic or graphic novel that caught your attention.
